On June 10, 2024 BANAVI Social Welfare Trust, Bengaluru in association with the Department of Life Sciences at East West First Grade College (EWFGC), Bengaluru, hosted a collage-making competition titled “Our Land, Our Future”. This event was part of the World Environment Day celebrations, aligning with the global emphasis on environmental conservation and the need for responsible management of natural resources.
The competition took place from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. attracting enthusiastic participation from both undergraduate and postgraduate students. A total of 15 impressive collages were created, showcasing the students’ creativity and passion for environmental issues. These collages were displayed for the entire East West Group of Institutions community, allowing other students and staff to appreciate the participants’ artistic interpretations of the theme.
The collages vividly conveyed the students’ thoughts on current environmental challenges, particularly focusing on pollution and its impact on nature. Evaluation of the entries was conducted by EWFGC staff members Mrs. Savitha M, Mrs. Guddi L and Mrs. Nikileshwari, in coordination with BANAVI team members.
The top four collages were recognized for their creativity and relevance to the theme, with each winner receiving a certificate of appreciation and a memento. The awards were presented by the esteemed guests, Dr. Purushotham B (Director, East West College) and Dr. Kumara Swamy M (Principal, EWFGC and President, BANAVI Social Welfare Trust), at 4:00 p.m. on the same day. During the award ceremony, all EWFGC students gathered in the seminar hall where they enjoyed tea and snacks. This event not only celebrated artistic expression but also raised awareness of our environmental responsibilities.
